i'm so confused on something and would like some advice...If your bf/gf spends most of their evenings afterwork playing online 3D games with cartoon avatars, buildings them, buys them clothes, and claims to have a virtual cartoon gf/bf, but says to you 'it's not cheating on you, b/c the cartoon isn't real"...Now would you consider that cheating?? The cartoon, might not be real, yes i agree, but there is a real person behind that cartoon that controls the avatar, on what to say or do....Also, such games as second life, you can do more then then just talk to other avatars, you can kiss, makeout, even bang with other avatars, which i find gross, but that's me!!. If your bf/gf claims banging another avatar in the game isn't cheating and doesn't mean a thing, because it's not real, how would you take that?? Yes, it isn't real because he/she isn't out sleeping and about with someone, but is doing all these things online with a cartoon somewhat similar or not???....I'm so confused, i don't know what to think, i totally disagree and hate it, but they keep telling me, that they love, i mean everything to them and they are just having fun, and it's nothing more, ....HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Having an online bf/gf (in a game) considered cheating on your RL bf/gf?
my mom swears by second life. she gets really obsessive with that game. for woman... we cheat emotionally because we need that stimulation to have a relationship. so when woman talk to other men and basically fall in love-- thats cheating, when men play the game-- its kind of like a source of porn. they arent in it for an emotional connection, so its not really cheating, but if they are obsessed with the game and they dont spend alot of time with you then they are cheating you out of the relationship because they are giving all their attention to someone else. i personally think that game is a joke and its a way for people to escape from their real lives, and its pathetic. my mom gets too serious and has even met and slept with married men (in real life) from the game, so it gets too out of hand.
I wouldn't consider it cheating because the person isn't physically interacting with the online character. It's just a virtual world and the avatar is kinda like a mask that they are hiding behind. You can be anyone behind a mask.
What really matters is how your bf/gf acts with you. At the end of the day, it's you that they're kissing and making out with for real and not from behind a a mask ie. the computer screen.Having an online bf/gf (in a game) considered cheating on your RL bf/gf?
Well, I don't consider this cheating, ti's not real, yeah the other character is IRL, but they'll never meet or talk really, so what's the problem.
Both me and my significant other are big gamers, and we have husbands/wives within the games, it's not a problem!
i grant your situation 20 LOL points
i think it is still cheating
because there really is a person behind that character. who has friends, family, a house, etc
if your bf was talking to some girl on the phone would that be cheating?
even though he cant physically contact her, he is still communicating
thus it is cheating.Having an online bf/gf (in a game) considered cheating on your RL bf/gf?
I tottally agree with you girl. That is wrong, because there is a real person behind that avatar, and if your bf/gf cared for you, they'd never do anything like that. So if that's happening to you u should talk about it. Good luck! :)
If it makes you uncomfortable it's not right. Cheating doesn't happen just physically...it happens emotionally too.
Your significant other needs a new hobby, no offense.
Nah, not really considered cheating.
It sounds like ragnarok. %26gt;%26lt;
omg i would tell him to pick one or the other either a cartoon he can virtually bang or an actual girl he can bang in real life
It's cheating and it's wrong. What if they were to find out it wasn't really a girl but some big brawly dude who's now on your doorstep looking for your bf!
Move on.
I wouldn鈥檛 consider it cheating.
How is this different than cybersex?
you put ur self in that situation get out before you have a headache its impossible to please two women ur only one person
It depends, how does your girlfriend in real life think about this?
Ugh, that's gross.
lol .... this is funny, it's a game leave it alone,
i they are not having respect for you.
in short, nope
kool
I'm with Lala...I think both of you need to get outside more often.
It isn't technically cheating. Would you feel the same way if he was drawing body parts with a pencil on paper? It is the same sort of thing. If this 3D cartoon person lives far away I would not worry. I also know a lot of guys who choose females to play in games because they like to watch a girls butt running instead of a guys, and they think it is funny to take her shirt off. The real question is why are people jealous over a pretend character? There must be other issues otherwise this would not be a consideration. Why don't you create a character and see if you feel like you are cheating while playing a game? Watching a character "woo-hoo" in a game is more comical than sexy. Try it yourself and see. If you are expecting this person to give up a game they have invested a lot of time into and they obviously truly love playing it then you need to consider what you are willing to give up for them as well. Join in and play. If someone gets turned on by a movie star is that cheating? Do you snap off the TV every time you see a sexy actor? Would your S/O quit playing the game if the game gf/bf quit? Probably not.
Okay if this guy is not getting what he wants in real life, then maybe that's why he is doing this.
I would say that this is JUST a game and that you should just let him be himself. If he is starting to talk about her constabtly, and then always going to play the game, you have to go with your heart
if you think that its cheating, then go with that.
I personally don't think anything of it.
I would consider that a different type of cheating.
If he or she is having fun with the idea of having an online bf/gf then maybe that is a sign that they are either liking the idea of having someone else to call a bf/gf. Seems strange to me that they would like to have a "game" bf/gf when they already have a real life one. If that were me, in the game, I would make it very clear that I have a real life bf.
Well i'm not exactly sure what to consider that either becasue i have never come across that before, but you should ask him why he can't just play his game without having a girlfriend on it. What significance can having a girlfriend in the gane possibley have in the game for him? If he does not have a good answer then ask why he insists on keeping this "girlfriend" around. I do not know if i would call what your boyfriend is doing cheating but i do know i would consider it annoying and disrespectful.
Yes, its cheating. It might not be in RL, but its still a person and they might thing that the feelings are real. He should be spending time with you and not a random person on the internet in a virtual game anyways. Dump him and see how he reacts, if he stops playing the game or dumps the girl on the internet, then take him back. But in my opinion, why would you date someone that spends all his time on the internet in games anyways?
i personally don't think its cheating but that does sound rather awkward to hear about...i wouldn't want my boyfriend to do that because it sounds really childish
anyway tell your other half that you dislike this hobby as it makes you feel uncomfortable and you believe that its childish or something and if they disagree to stop then i guess their in love with the game to care about how you feel.
what the hell?
that is ridiculous.
there is absolutely no need to be banging a cartoon avatar every day after school in a game.
why dont you tell your bf/gf to get off their lazy butt and do something else.
that would piss me off if my boyfriend did that.
its not necessarily cheating, but then again, what is the intent on that?
theres a real person behind the avatar.
an 'online' bf/gf and a 'real life' bf/gf aren't options, its one or the other.
I would consider it stupid
