Why are people on Online Game Forums so negative all the time?

Ask a simple question and you get flamed. A lot irrational people that seem to act like these games are a religion or a way of life. Scary, but interesting in a way too.Why are people on Online Game Forums so negative all the time?
I agree and the fact that for some people this game is all they got in life, sad to say, so they take it overly serious and get upset if someone isn't taking it as serious and playing by the rules they've made up for themselves as to what "proper gameplay" is.



Take it for a grain of salt and realize that there's some phsychological issues going on here that we don't know about. Its their little world and heaven help ya if you question it. lol
its because people get carried away with their thoughts and think that everyone should agree with them and they are right and everyone else is wrong. Its always been that way. Look throughout history you got idiots like that (Hitler, Stalin, Bush) lol. Oh well people suck.Why are people on Online Game Forums so negative all the time?
Because most of them haven't had sex in either:

a) a long time -or-

b) never
yeah, especially in those real life games, people expect you to be perfect as soon as you play. I remember when I joined tribalwars, I got my head chewed off because I didn't build troops fast enough. And some people just like to be as holes about the game.Why are people on Online Game Forums so negative all the time?
Most of the gamers who actively participate in forums are teenagers (and some twentysomethings) who feel that they have to use the Internet as a medium to prove their dominance and superiority. I can almost guarantee that the people on these forums wouldn't be that belligerent face-to-face. In fact, I bet many of them would be quiet and timid if you actually met them. They just haven't grown up yet.

Because its their little haven and source of power over the world and your intruding upon it. Its all they got when hey aren't running they ticket counter at the movie theater or ringing you up for your Happy Meal. Its a power trip supported by the internet safety net.



Forums are mostly (not all) visited by very irrational people that have a set mindset or just like starting trouble cuz its safe. Remember: you can't rationalize with irrational behaviour ;)
