Online game, similar to Second Life?

I'm looking for an online game where you can make a character and interact with other people. I'm not a fan of games like World of Warcraft. I want something that's in a more real life setting. I've tried the game Second Life, but my computer is really slow and the game pretty much kills my computer. So does anyone know of a game similar to Second Life?Online game, similar to Second Life?
