Is it illegal to threat in an online game?

Say if person A is no longer friends with person B but they use to be good friends so that person B has person A's personal information and such, would it be illegal if person B threatens person A about posting all of person A's personal information such as pictures, addresses, etc? Also if person B was to make threats that he knows where person A lives and threatens to do something bad to them, would that be illegal and can they be reported to the authorities/arrested? Yes it is illegal.A threat is a threat where ever it is made.If it is made on line then you should save it and print it out as that would be evidence that the threat was made.should you wish to pursue this legally. Often with verbal threats it is one persons word against another with no witnesses and no solid evidence. Regardless of whether you wish to pursue this legally at the moment I would still save all threats made, then should any of them be carried out you have the proof that this person made the threat.
Is the threat reasonably likely to be carried out? Then yes, a criminal complaint can be filed against you. If I personaly threatened to boil YOU in oil, no criminal offense has been committed because I have no idea who you are, or any way to find you. In other words, it's not even reasonable to imagine that I could carry it out. The context of the threat will also be considered for criminal intent. A vague threat like "I'm gonna kick your butt" can easily mean in the game score.



A friend and I were working out and decided to have a little race uphill. I told him that I'd beat him up (the hill), and he teased me that it could be considered threat of bodily injury. But it was all just playing around because there was no other evidence of animosity, and the context of the language would be in question.Is it illegal to threat in an online game?
